This pinhole view looking west towards the Biggs water tower has a remarkable sense of calm.
This morning I received word that a dear friend of mine lost all of her belongings to a house fire soon into the new year. She wasn't physically harmed, but she lost everything except for a few pieces of clothing.

I recently watched the Wizard of Oz again. As always, Dorothy left an incredibly beautiful place to spend the day in a sepia toned bed with a headache.

The faded hand painted lettering on the alley entrance can still be read. They once offered savings here. Similar to a faded and weathered tattoo, what remains continues to tell pieces of the story.

Though my eye is drawn to the time exposure of the moving traffic, my favorite area in this image is the welcoming night blue glow from the storefront in the upper left. It depicts such solitary calmness.
