Here's another setting that I see regularly and one I've wanted to photograph for quite some time. With the bare trees and the lack of living foliage, the captured mood is far more desolate than I experienced while peering through the viewfinder. Perhaps in a few months, springtime will seed something different.

This pinhole view looking west towards the Biggs water tower has a remarkable sense of calm.
This morning I received word that a dear friend of mine lost all of her belongings to a house fire soon into the new year. She wasn't physically harmed, but she lost everything except for a few pieces of clothing.
Thanks in advance for your good wishes and prayers.

An afternoon view from my third floor desk. If this blog had speakers, you'd be listening to the same song I heard upon posting. Jonatha Brooke, I'll Leave the Light On.
Ironic? ... not sure.
Stellar, heartfelt, soul searching, and reach inside to caress your heart type of tune? ...absolutely!

Here's another one I've wanted to shoot for months. I'd hoped to one day capture this photo with extreme highlights and shadows from the afternoon sun. Today's overcast and diffused winter light added a
solemnness while the delicate snow countered the ruggedness of the abandoned.
