Making it's way through the opening in the trees, the sunlight would drape us as we stood there. Waiting. We hoped for a change of weather along with any subtle movement or gnome activity. We waited and stood silently as another cloud parted so the sun could once again warm our backs.

Sometimes I stand in my chair to have a closer look at my shoes. Then there are days when I do so just to have a better view of where I've been.

Food is art and my kitchen is another one of my studios. Not only does it need to taste good. It must also look good. Saturday looked like this.
Scrambled eggs with mozzarella, cheddar, and parmesan with a splash of salsa. Home style hash browns with onion, garlic, and green peppers from our garden. Olive oil lime parmesan french loaf topped with orange marmalade. Nectarines. Tomato juice and freshly ground fair trade coffee. Fab!

With a mug of freshly ground fair trade whole bean coffee and a chipped plate of warm baked oatmeal raisin cookies waiting near a flickering fireplace, I'm convinced that fine food does not require fine china.
